Your big Idea should be more than scribbles on a post-it note

I'm Guy, an award winning developer and no-coder based in the UK. I specialise in the conception & creation of custom web applications and SaaS products for start-ups and brands looking to build something bigger than just an idea.

For over a decade I've worked alongside start-ups, agencies and international brands on projects big and small.

Your first step is to say hello

I currently have availability for either freelancer work or full time roles.

Forging new working relationships online takes a leap of faith. But it doesn't have to be so scary.

I offer a free 'dip the toe' session to cover all the good stuff. Importantly it’s a great opportunity to put names to faces and find out if we are a good fit for each other.

Frequent Questions

Do you charge by the project or time spent?

Different projects require different pricing structures.  For standalone development projects I prefer to use a fixed price model so you can budget and plan appropriately.  I do offer variable pricing or retainer arrangements for projects were the development objectives are less clear or if you require specific availability each week or month.

Do you work with other people?

The bulk of project work is done personally. However different projects demand specific skill sets or have different objectives that may require the input of others.

Often I work within existing teams to provide a very specific service, in which case I work alongside in house developers and designers.  For standalone projects I'm lucky to work with a network of talented designers and developers with whom I regularly work with.  This is particularly the case with designers whose work and creative direction differs vastly from each others or my own.

If your project requires certain functionality outside of my sphere of knowledge, or we believe that the project could benefit from working with other people then I will ensure that you are part of the decision making process.

What communication channels do you use to meet?

I love to meet the people I’m working with in person, but if geography dictates otherwise, I am happy using any video conferencing software that you already use (Teams, Zoom etc).  Day to day I  use Notion (for planning), Slack (for more informal conversations) and of course trusty email.  I have a zero inbox policy so your messages will always been seen and replied to in a timely manner.

Where are you based if we want to meet you in person?

I am currently based just outside of Durham so have fast road access to Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Leeds, York and Manchester.  If required I am more than happy to travel further if required.

Do you just work with clients from the UK?

The majority of clients I work with are based in the UK however I do work with teams in both the U.S and around Europe. If you are outside of the UK then don’t hesitate to get in touch regarding your project.

Can we hold regularl meetings?

I believe that building a relationship based on transparency and inclusion, with open, fluid dialogue is vital to a projects success.  I want you to feel that whether you need to talk daily, or prefer to meet less regularly that you get all the time you need.

Can you provide ongoing support as our project grows?

Yes. A big part of working together is making sure you have everything you need to continue to adapt and scale your business.  Whether you need support with your product, you need to make changes, require training of new team members, or anything else I am here to help.
